Communications Intern (Oakland)
Global Footprint Network is seeking a communications intern to contribute to the outreach programs of our dynamic international organization. Global Footprint Network promotes a sustainable economy by advancing the Ecological Footprint, a tool that makes sustainability measurable. Together with our partners, we provide decision makers with robust resource accounts and tools to help the human economy operate within the Earth's ecological limits.
Recent graduates with a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field as well as advanced undergraduate students are encouraged to apply. Degrees in the environment or natural resources, with strong writing and communications experience would also be considered. Depending on skills and interests, intern projects may include:
- Providing research to support targeted outreach to our key stakeholders;
- Assisting with website maintenance, newsletters, and media outreach;
- Writing and editing reports and project summaries;
- Supporting the planning and coordinating of direct mail and annual appeal campaigns;
- Assisting with a crowdfunding campaign, including social media.
Salary And Benefits
Our internship positions are unpaid. We prefer full time interns, but for part-time arrangements we require a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week for 12 weeks. Hours are flexible. Free healthy lunches are provided most days. School credit may be available depending on the requirements of your institution. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain non-profit communications experience and be part of an innovative communications team.
