Figure 1 tracks the per-person resource demand (Ecological Footprint) and resource supply (Biocapacity) in Turkey since 1961. Biocapacity varies each year with ecosystem management, agricultural practices (such as fertilizer use and irrigation), ecosystem degradation, and weather.
Country Factsheets have been produced for each country reported in the Living Planet Report 2012 (16 MB). These compare the Ecological Footprint and Biocapacity trends in the most recent LPR (2012) with the previous edition (LPR 2010). There are some differences due to changes in data, methodology and calculations; the full explanation of these can be found here-- each Country Factsheet refers to this document for a more detailed explanation.
