It’s official: Global Footprint Network, Geneva, has opened its doors at the International Environment House. The opening of the new office was marked by a celebration launch on Oct. 27, and was attended by a significant contingent from the International Environment House community and additional Swiss alliances of Global Footprint Network, including United Nation agencies, non-governmental organizations and local authorities.

“Geneva is an epicenter for leadership,” said Susan Burns, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President. “This is where some of the world’s most visionary ideas are hatched and launched, with the potential to change humanity’s course. Given the global challenges we want to tackle at Global Footprint Network, this is exactly where we need to be.”
Board Chairman André Hoffmann commenced the evening event along with representatives of the Geneva authorities, including Alexandre Epalle of the République et Canton de Genève, Bal Salman Département of Fédéral des affaires étrangères DFAE and Ivonne Higuero of UNEP. Representing Global Footprint Network were Co-founder and President Mathis Wackernagel, and Global Footprint Network Geneva staff, including Senior Scientist, Alessandro Galli, and Lead Scientist, Gemma Cranston, who spoke about current initiatives. The launch concluded with a Q&A session surrounding global sustainability and resource constraints.
