2004 National Accounts Released and Available!
The Global Footprint Network is pleased to announce the release of the 2004
Edition of the National Footprint and Biocapacity Accounts. Covering 150
countries over the past 40 years, the National Footprint and Biocapacity
Accounts provide common and globally comparable results and conversion
factors for Ecological Footprinting. The headline findings will be published
by WWF International in the upcoming Living Planet Report 2004.
---------------------
The National Footprint and Biocapacity Accounts (or just "National Accounts")
form the engine that powers Ecological Footprinting. These accounts comprise
the vast array of statistical data and the conversion formulas that enable
calculation of the Ecological Footprint. Maintaining and improving these
accounts is one of the key stewardship responsibilities of the Network.
The data sheets are available as a Project Edition, which provides
comprehensive results, conversion factors and analysis for any chosen
country or countries. Also soon to be available is a free Academic Edition
which exposes the full calculation methodology for the world as a whole
and a representative country.
Project Edition pricing details are
available on our web site.
